St. Michael's Church

The church came to us with a proposal to add a hall onto the side of the existing (listed) church. We created a new design with the hall moved some way from the church but linked to it with glazed cloisters. Thus we maintained the natural light into the church and enclosed a quiet garden which is used as an extension of the church, including for open-air services.

St. John's Church Woodley

At St. John's we again faced the problem of extending a listed Victorian church. The addition of a South aisle to balance the existing north aisle, together with a new chapel and vestry ,was achieved by introducing a new line of columns and arches to support the roof. The existing windows were incorporated into the new lower wall by forming dormers. A strong feature was the use of flint walling to match the existing.
