This was the first of three boarding houses built for the school which is within green belt and required us to work closely with the Local Authority to achieve a design in keeping with the sensitive setting, obtain the necessary approvals and satisfy the clients brief.

The building has four storeys, but is built into the hillside and uses the roof void to minimise its impact on the adjacent buildings. Materials were chosen to minimise long term maintenance, and design features were introduced to harmonise with the original Victorian buildings.
